Bring field guides if you have them, especially for wildflowers.

Day pack or carryall for art materials, water bottle

Binoculars if you want

An array of at least 8 colors plus white - acrylics or watercolors preferred, but colored pencils are good, too. A good choice would be the small bottles of Golden Fluid acrylics. (n.b. avoid "High Flow" acrylics for this class)

cadmium red medium hue, or pyrrole red, or naphthol red light

HB pencil (a normal #2 writing pencil) and an eraser

Micron pens, "05" black or sepia, or other drawing pens you like

palette - a paper palette is fine for acrylics, or a watercolor palette with enough flat area for mixing colors

Brushes - #1, #4, # 6 round, synthetic water media brushes, any others you like

sketch pad - 11 X 14-ish

For water media - also bring a pad or block of watercolor paper 11 X 14-ish (cold pressed or hot pressed, not rough)

A palette knife with a metal blade
